real nice crossbow with no string don’t know manufacture?
I will take it to a bow shop but how can I be sure I am getting good information? Is there some sort of math formula? with my bow relaxed it is 24 9/16” from where the string would rest. measuring from the bow limbs back to where the string is held when cocked is 13 3/4” I took this measurement with the trigger mech cocked obviously no string. The only other dimension I can think to take is the length of the cocking cable used to string and unstring the bow and it is 29”. Don’t know how that could be used except the main string would have to be shorter.
I picked this bow up used with no string and sombody along the way did a camo job on it and I can’t tell the brand make or model. The main thing is saftey I want the correct string and also do not want somebody to make me one custom because they make more money that way, or whatever. Thanks any help would be appreciated.
Without knowing the designed draw weight of the prod, the only method that really works is not safe. All you can do is approximate the pull and hope you don’t go over.
My suggestion would be first, use some turpentine and see if you can find a maker/model under that paint?
My second suggestion would be take it to the shop and ask for a stock string. It’ll cost $5. It’s only a guess, but they’ll be able to guess closer than you or I chatting in text.
My first proper attempt at camo painting a crossbow
This post will talk about some of the mount parts and scopes that are used in air rifles. First of all, why does one need a scope for the rifle? A good scope delivers accurate shots, facilitates long range shooting, and ensures quicker recovery time. But it doesn’t end there!! A good scope needs a good quality scope mount. Even if you have spent a small fortune on you scope, it couldn’t perform with an inferior mount.
Points to remember before buying a scope: 1. Perfect fit: Your new scope mount should fit the rifle perfectly. If you don’t set it up correctly, you will shoot nowhere near the target! 2. Brand and Warranty: Look for scopes from a good manufacturer and also note down the warranty period. 3. Magnification: While higher power of magnification offers lesser field of view, less power scopes provide larger fields of view. Choose one as per your need. 4. Flexibility: Check for detailed adjustment options in your rifle scopes. You should be able to adjust windage, elevation, focus, and power settings suitably. 5. Right crosshair: A crosshair is a shape superimposed on an image to help you align your rifle precisely before a shot. You might need an illuminated reticle for low-light conditions.
